Thank you for your email.

I can confirm that your coaching qualifications were revoked due to your DBS expiring on our system in xxxx.

Coaching qualifications become revoked if a Licence has not been issued for 6 years (2 licence cycles). Licencing requirements are communicated to coaches via the Coach Licence Terms and Conditions and assurances of appropriate training and qualifications is part of that.

We have a duty to care to athletes within the sport to make sure all coaches knowledge is up to date and that they have a valid DBS, are First Aid trained to an appropriate level, and have completed the appropriate level UKA Safeguarding Training.

The options available to you are as follows:

  1. You can complete the LiRF and CiRF/Coaching Assistant and Athletics Coach course, or
  2. You can apply to have your qualification reinstated via the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) assessment process https://www.englandathletics.org/coaches-and-officials/coaching-journey/how-you-can-get-into-coaching/recognition-of-prior-learning-rpl/

Whichever route you choose, you will also need to complete the following:

  • Apply for your DBS online.
  • Complete the mandatory training module (First Aid and Safeguarding), which are included within the course of both options above
  • Upload a recent passport style photograph to your Athletics Portal.

If you have any further questions regarding the above, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards,

Kylie
