Hi,

Thank you for your email. I'm glad to hear that you're interested in becoming a Track & Field official. Could you please tell me about your experience in the sport so far? Are you currently a member of a club or new to the sport?

There are several officiating disciplines to specialise in. You can find more information about each discipline on our website here: Officiating Qualifications - England Athletics

Once you've decided on a discipline, you can begin the process. Here are the steps: Track and Field officials' pathway - England Athletics

1. Attend and register for a Level 1 officials’ course (minimum age of 16).

2. Send or upload a photo to My Athletics Portal.

3. Complete our health and safety and safeguarding self-paced online modules.

4. Undergo a DBS check.

After completing these steps, you can put your training into practice by contacting your local athletics or running club to find out about events they're hosting. You can also reach out to your County Officials Secretary (COfSec) for support and information about local opportunities. Lastly, be sure to record your practical officiating experiences to aid in your development, you can do this via MyAthletics Portal in the Record of Experience function.

If you have any further questions, please contact myself lfryer@englandathletics.org
Kind Regards
